Participating on volunteer child care programs organized by your local communities or offer pre-school or after-school child care as volunteer may help you in gaining experiences and parents may note about you. You may ask elementary school teachers to recommend you or you may contact parents and ask them if they have any babysitting job or help hand on taking care of their child. But these methods may not work well always, sometimes you may get frustrated by other people's reactions to your questions/query for the job.

It will be better if you can find any websites that specifically offer services to parents and nannies, in other words the websites that links babysitters and parents. Such website is a great source of getting jobs quickly as possible.

Once you find your prospective client, you may be asked lots of questions on email or instant messages or phone or face to face. You have to be well prepared. Parents may give you different scenario and may ask you on how would you react for that scenario? You have to be well prepared to answer such questions.
